Our Emotional Support Animal (ESA) assessment and evaluation service is conducted as part of ongoing mental health treatment and is designed to thoughtfully evaluate a client’s emotional and psychological needs, functional challenges, and the potential therapeutic role of an Emotional Support Animal.
Through clinical interviews and evidence-based assessment tools, our licensed mental health professionals explore how symptoms impact daily functioning and whether the presence of an animal may help mitigate those symptoms. The evaluation focuses on the therapeutic benefit of the animal within the context of the client’s overall mental health care—not on the animal itself.
This process supports careful clinical decision-making and ensures that any ESA documentation, when clinically appropriate, is grounded in ethical practice, professional judgment, and applicable federal guidelines. ESA documentation is not guaranteed and is provided only when a clear clinical rationale exists.
We are committed to creating a respectful, supportive environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and understanding throughout the evaluation process—supporting meaningful and sustainable mental health care.
